The story behind the story
I love to read detective stories. Especially in winter, when you can ignore the snowstorm outside, sit comfortably in the armchair with a cup of cocoa or milk and a new detective story.
I also have a friend. He is a dachshund with sharp mind and sense. When something is lost, he can find it in no time! A real detective. My friend’s name is Holmes. And these are his stories, which he loves to tell, and I love to listen.
Characters
Dachshund Holmes
Dachshund Holmes is a small but fast dog starting his service in police and already famous for solving a huge case about the stolen diamonds of the countess N… He is extremely clever and logical. Loves to read detective stories by the famous writer Cunning Fox. If he is not investigating, he is reading, for what was even mocked by his superior. Never pays attention to the mocks though, but this is the only thing he pays no attention to. The dachshund is highly reliable, he hears and notices everything. Moreover, his sense of smell is legendary! Possesses a strange habit to scratch his paws when he senses the coming of a new case.
Cat Watson
After spending 10 years in Africa, Watson returns home, meets Holmes and saves his brother’s house from being robbed. Since that case, becames the assistant of the detective. Watson is reliable, values friendship above all, thorough, logical enough. A great friend and assistant.
The Kotofeyevs family
Dad is a dignified striped cat Kuzma Kotofeyev. Mom is a lovely white cat with bright blue eyes. Nina Kotofeyeva. Two wonderful kittens are red Misha and Disha Kotofeyevs. Dad wears bow tie, distressed leather bag and goes to work. Once young he was quite furious, but then got to his senses, married a nice cat and founded the gnawer catching firm which became the biggest and most successful at the yearend. Mom manages the household, brings up the kids and holds receptions that are famous even beyond the city measures. Children are on homeschooling. The nannie Klavdiya Petrovna is a true angel in the family. She brought up mom Nina and now she is taking care of the youngest age of the family.

At first the detectives - the dachshund Holmes and the cat Watson - do not see the connection between the crimes but later on they begin to connect the dots and find evidence of a genius criminal M. And he is seeking for revenge!
